For accountants & advisors

When a client asks, “What is my business worth, and who would buy it?”

Bridgepoint Business Sale Consultants works with accountants, lawyers, bankers and other advisors whose clients are thinking about selling or buying an established Saskatchewan business. Travis Kellett, Business Sale & Valuation Consultant, has been the founder of Bridgepoint since 2009. Before that, he spent 13 years in merger and acquisition financing, using senior debt, subordinated debt, leasing and advanced structuring techniques to finance the purchase of businesses.

How a referral works

  1. Start with a confidential conversation. You, your client, or both of you together can call or email Travis. You do not need to share financial statements or identify your company in a first enquiry. You’re also welcome to call Travis on your own first and talk through the situation without naming your client.
  2. Get an honest read. Travis looks at the situation and suggests the support that fits. That might be a business valuation, a managed sale, owner-led Sale Assist support, buy-side advice, or no transaction at all. Our success stories include owners who decided not to sell after a valuation.
  3. Agree on scope and fees up front. Fees are published on the Sell Your Business page. For example, a business valuation is $4,900 CAD plus GST: “A business valuation consulting opinion based on financial performance, relevant market evidence and appropriate earnings adjustments.”
  4. Work through to closing with the client’s existing advisors. On a managed sale, Bridgepoint’s role includes: “Coordinate information requests and advisor communication, anticipate financing questions and help address obstacles.”

You stay your client’s advisor

  • Confidentiality, careful buyer qualification and collaboration with your accountant, lawyer and other advisors remain central to the process.
  • We work alongside your legal and accounting advisors; those professionals remain responsible for legal and tax advice.
  • Bridgepoint does not provide legal or tax advice, real estate services or independent property appraisals. Owners engage the appropriate separate professionals for those matters.
  • During an agreed marketing or advisory engagement, Bridgepoint coordinates buyer financial questions using your records and input from you and your accountant.

In plain terms: you stay involved through the whole process and keep the tax advice and the ongoing relationship with your client, while Travis runs the sale: valuation, the buyer search, confidentiality, negotiation support and financing coordination.
